Palm sugar, from the hands that make it

Baskoro Agri Trade began as a trading business. After meeting the arenga farmer groups of Bengkulu, it became a plan to grow together.

We came to trade. We stayed to grow together.

I will be honest about how Baskoro Agri Trade began. It started as a trading business, with a simple aim: to buy good Indonesian sugar and sell it well.

Then I went to Bengkulu and saw how arenga sugar is really made. The sap is tapped by hand from the palm, cooked down, dried and milled by farmer groups who put their days into every bag.

I also saw that these groups hold few of the certifications that Europe and America ask for. Without those papers, those markets stay closed, however good the sugar is.

That changed what I wanted from this company. I still want it to earn its keep. But I also want the farmers who make the sugar to grow with it.

We are a young company, and this is a direction, not a finished project. We will always tell you honestly where we stand.

Growing together with the farmers behind the sugar.

Our direction

Where we are today, and where we want to go with the farmer groups of Bengkulu.

Today

We export granulated arenga and coconut palm sugar, with a stated specification and a Certificate of Analysis for each lot.

Next

We want to help the arenga farmer groups obtain the certifications that demanding markets ask for.

Our goal

A processing facility for the groups, and a route for their sugar into Europe and America.

For the farmers

A route to buyers abroad, without having to handle export paperwork, packing and shipping on their own.

For you as a buyer

A stated specification, documents with every shipment, and a clear origin you can share with your own customers.

What we stand for

  • Direct and known

We work with producers and farmer groups in Sumatra and Java. You always know which region your sugar comes from.

  • Honest information

We state the specification and back each lot with a Certificate of Analysis. We do not claim what we cannot document.

  • Long-term relationships

We would rather build steady relationships with producers and with buyers than chase one-off orders.
